Oops

"Smug," I know you know the meaning.

You are an over-educated pompous little

fart of-a-man.

Where is your passion?

Belittling me?

   But you can't...

because I can still learn.

What manner of Life form are you, to think you know everything

about anything?

You are merely a collected putrid gas cloud hurling through space

on the same living rock that I am on.

oops...

did I insult your intelligence.

      Fuck you.

oops

this is a perfect resignation letter; TO YOUR BOSS, if that is the way you feel.I don't think that I would be able to give something so brutal to someone, but heck everyone has had a moment where they would love to say what you just did. The end was great. (last two lines)oops how funny.

Ha Ha ...But Whoa

Ha Ha that people in authority would bring that out of folk..?I had a moment the other day... Came out like this..."Fuck You!And Fuck people who procreate with people like you." That I will be putting to tee-shirts.Knowing that an asshole serves a purpose(to deal with shit)and seeing them do nothing important makes it obvious they are full of shit. Funny how?Ha Ha In ink, Dabbler

Oh! I've felt like this all week.

Now, the poem- *Smug, I know you know the meaning. Maybe Smug in quotations? *You are an over-educated pompous little fart of-a-man. (I like how you broke these lines up to emphasize not once, but twice, how insignificant he is.) *But you can’t… because I can still learn. (I'd close with this because it's a strong articulate expression of why you shouldn't be dismissed. "Fuck you" doesn't have that same mature quality. I'm not suggesting deleting it-just not ending with it. That's probably just a personal preference issue, though.) Refreshing!

Arrow...

first of all let me thank you for digging this poem up... it was one I posted early in the time I've been here. I do so much love it when you give your ideas on one of my writes and I totally agree with the changes you offered on this one... but... the maturity level, hmmmm... funny how people with power over you can break down all mature thoughts and leave one with no other words but "fuck you" I quit...don't need this shit or worse yet, an offer to kick their righteous ass in the parking lot. You are right! let me think about a change though... Sorry you've felt like this all week, I have had a rather trying one too... I am raising my cup of coffee to you in hopes that we will both have a better time next week... thank you for reading and I love that you were refreshed! Richard

Richard,

If we can't speak our anger thought once in a while who would we be. We have to vent to keep from becoming and anger vindictive monster, expressing our feeling is the escape hatch, that helps keep our sanity in check! Good for you, I say fuck'em if they can't take a joke!! Eddie Life is like a railroad track that leads to many junctures, if you stand on the track, Love comes speeding along and runs you over!! Hi Janice...

I remember when I posted this one being worried about how it may be perceived... people often don't want to see the anger in the world, but it is there... and all of us are capable... thanks Richard

Richard,

I am laughing out loud! I think this is brilliant, maybe we should all write our resignation letters down and post them (not the actual ones, but the angry first drafts). Yours, ~Nina

why doesn't Microsoft Word offer this as the resignation letter

template? I mean, seriously?! I would send truckloads of money (if I had it) to Bill Gates every month if that was on there. Had a roaring good laugh with this, Richard, because it is so "everyman," if you catch my meaning. My old poem, "Piss and Vinegar, Please" tackles the same subject, though not nearly as well. Oh, and I realize that twice in a row now I have hawked one of my poems while commenting on yours, please know that that isn't the intent, lol! Mark W. Hey...

Maybe I'll offer it to Bill...lol .. thanks for that laugh.. and I do get the "everyman" feeling you mentioned. No man wants to be treated insignificantly or talked to condescendingly but I do believe each one will experience it. Shameful when it takes place by one who holds the key to your next check, but it happens all the time. thank you for reading and leaving your great comments on my poetry... I will look up your poem and while there will read more of yours... thanks Mark. Richard
