Dizzy The Mouse

There is a little mouse, his name is Dizzy.
Fat is he, as he's always busy!

Dizzy's home really raises the bar.
He currently resides in the cookie jar.

Without a peep, without a sound.
Dizzy sits in there rootin' around.

Chocolate chip, he doesn't care.
Open the lid, and he is always there.

Finally finished with his prize.
Dizzy sits with an aching belly, a satisfied look in his eyes.

Dizzy isn't much, and isn't dumb.
He's not even greedy, look, he's saved you a crumb.

Which name??

Infinite_Dwarf or Guar? Guar has no special significance, just thought it would be a cute name to give a mouse. I like the play on words for Infinite_Dwarf, as it's pretty much both extremes in the name.... besides, my normal screen name for things is six_ft_to_infinity (or variations thereof) and I wanted to keep the 'infinity' theme going. Thanks for stopping in. :~) ~Jess ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Johnny was a chemist's son, but Johnny is no more. love Guar, even though I wouldn't hesitate to kill him.

See my poem "poor little rat". my favourite mouse poem I saw on a teatowel- There once was a mouse most terrible ticklish who didn't like cheese but was quite fond of liquorice and always did say he would a a good time, with a ripe red radish, a glass of red wine and someone just tickling him all of the time anon cheers, Jess

Kids

The kids would adore this. I can imagine it illustrated and in a children's book format - not sure how easy it would be for them to read the name "Guar", but could be a good lesson - even a lesson about saving some for others :0)

This was very enjoyable. Still being a newbie, I am going to try a poem with just a two line stanza's. Heck with the kids, I must still be one, it was nice to read something magical and light. Patty

Playful humor's ...

nice, esp. when cloaked within the ambience of a child's innocence ... and reasoned logic: Leaving the crumb as a present explains well the telltale evidence. I.e., the additional evidence alongside Dizzy's own presence within the cookie jar. A short bedtime story apt for kids. But we/wee adults like it too. Thanx, Chuck

This is cute.

I wonder how it would roll along with more alliteration. E.g., Without a peep, without a sound. Dizzy sits in there rootin’ around. (Without a squeak, without a sound Dizzy's busy rootin' around.) Always glad to see more kid's poems! Keep it up.

Well done Jess K.

Very cute little poem. I really enjoyed it especially right now. I would make one change maybe. Dizzy sits with an aching belly, a satisfied look in his eyes. (An aching belly and satisfied eyes) Wonderful child's poem. Respectfully, Rett: "The only thing observable with the naked eye to exceed the speed of light is rumor" Unknown
