carved lonely.

"all is fair"
you argue.
your law is on the line,
asking for leave, some quiet stay.

"in love" is more like a trailer than a
summer cabin, portable options
underlined.

"and war"  incase you
need it...   you say the struggle
is there always, even in
the offering hand,
the dandelions children give.

I consider the view
the way I watch trains.
watching each dull box car,
neon graffiti in corners.

and eye your seat carved lonely,
now an easy chair,
unreadied by winter.

I like the quiet argument in this piece. There are a few places that may or may not be improved by editing, but sometimes we go back to work over the years and realize that on our own. For now, I'd leave this as it is. The ending is quite haunting. Best, Ronda
