Unicorn Dreams

Unicorn Dreams

Does a Unicorn dream
Of silly little things,
Or spend his time in play?
Is his head in a whirl
From the weight of the world
And things he has to say?

What would you say
If you knew that his day
Was the same as yours or mine?
What would you think
If you saw one blink
And he asked you for the time?

Would you turn him away
And tell him to play
With someone else for awhile?
Would you ask for a ride
And sit there astride
With your face alight in a smile?

But Unicorns you see
Are fancy and free
And may not come by today.
But if one comes by
Don't be frightened and cry
Or you might chase him away!

Last time I talked to a unicorn

(the day before yesterday) he would not let me ride, they only let virgins, a long standing tradition. But we played some wonderful word games. Unicorns are hopeless at chess and backgammon, the hooves, you understand. We always have fun. And I had fun reading this. As a pragmatist and an amateur scientist and mathematician I would still truly die in my soul if magic was lost from the world. cheers, Jess

Me too jess

Magic and wonder still exists if only in the soul and mind. Respectfully, Rett: "Life is like a beach. Salty, gritty, somewhat fishy and at other times, downright crabby!" Rett 2008.

Unicorn dreams

I use to have them. :) Unicorns are somehting else one could debate. I for one like to think they did exist. It would be truly delightful to talk to one. I like your poem alot Rett. I like the mystical things real or imagined. FYI, they are mentioned in the bible as well as in most cultrual literature. Good one again Rett. Dana Job 39:9-12, Isaiah 34:7, Psalms 29:6, just for a few.:)

Good to see you back! Yep, magic and all the other stuff is what dreams are made of. I like to think I still have a little bit of the child left in me. I am glad you enjoyed it. Thank you. Thank you Rahbar

I enjoyed writing this one. It may be several years old, but it still creates a sense of wonder. I wrote it for my oldest grandkids and made a booklet out of it with pictures and all. I just re-[rinted the booklet for my 6 year old granddaughter. I am very glad you enjoyed it. Respectfully, Rett: "Life is like a beach.
