If Love had Never Been
Imagine, if you will
a world that's void of "Hope".
can you fathom the continuous struggle
by being at the end of your rope?
And "Joy" would surely disappear
with smiles falling from every face;
unhappiness, and bitter doubt,
as a "shroud-like, sort of lace".
And throughout all of our endeavors,
discouragement would prevail;
leaving us with labored breathing,
stealing the wind out of our sail.
The negative emotions
slowly hardening each heart,
would also be the poison
tearing families, apart.
There'd be no good intentions,
no-one would know who was a friend;
we'd live a life of misery,
if "Love" had never been.
a world that's void of "Hope".
can you fathom the continuous struggle
by being at the end of your rope?
And "Joy" would surely disappear
with smiles falling from every face;
unhappiness, and bitter doubt,
as a "shroud-like, sort of lace".
And throughout all of our endeavors,
discouragement would prevail;
leaving us with labored breathing,
stealing the wind out of our sail.
The negative emotions
slowly hardening each heart,
would also be the poison
tearing families, apart.
There'd be no good intentions,
no-one would know who was a friend;
we'd live a life of misery,
if "Love" had never been.
