The Nature Of Insanity

The Nature Of Insanity

Four walls close in
A furnace heats up, and
A cold front meets in the
Ocean of my heart

The pressure cooker builds
Over a woods fire burning wild, and
The east wind blows in the
Forest of my flesh

Hurricane storms wreak havoc
Tornados and lightning cut down trees, and
The streams wash away judgment from the
Vacancy of my heart

As natural disasters wreck lives
Devastation and rubbish besiege lands, and
The looters carried off sanity from the
Jungle of my psyche

Hello Barbara

This is very evocative. This is my favorite verse. It sets the tone. 'Four walls close in A furnace heats up, and A cold front meets in the Ocean of my heart' You've been having a few of those cold fronts (the literal kind) where you live, huh? Yours, Dee

Hello Barbara

This is very evocative. Below is my favorite verse. It sets the tone. The title is nice too, the play on the word nature to be specific. 'Four walls close in A furnace heats up, and A cold front meets in the Ocean of my heart' Yours, Dee

Symbolic

Out of the four, one is jealous with you.Your nature loving feelings are going haywire.Policies precepts and principles are weakened in front of the true attachment.Babara, I recollect, "O' rose thou art sick..." Your poem is simple ,natural and subleme. Also please accept my sincere greetings. Albert.
