Ode to the Spide

Spider, oh spider

You constantly weave

Such intricate traps

With invisible seams

I am amazed you

Never were schooled

In architect structure

Or mathematical rules

The feats you accomplish

Are inspired and grand

Born from instinctive

And ancient spidery plans

What is your secret

How do you know

How far to extend

Your silk as you go

Busy, so busy

For hours on end

You lace each strand together

To extend and expand

When you are done

A masterpiece is created

To feed your ravenous appetite

Until it is sated
