My Church (Earth Meditation)

My church is all around me
I am outside of it
yet it dwells still
within me

I choose to worship every day
open to the air
bare to the earth
birthed in the fire
soulwashed in the water
of the mountains

My church and I
are as one
chalice of hope
conduit of love
passage for life

I worship in the
sepulchre of silence
a still port in a raging sea
the eye of the storm
in the centre of me

I sing praises
in the valleys of heaven
raising my voice in acknowledgement
praying for love's continuing return
to this land
I glorify this earth, our mother
I exalt her, worshipping within her
in this earth
is this
My church

My church

Another marvelous side of your world, there's always the church in every one, yes the one to worship. love and light Ephy

If you say so fearybeki,

If you say so fearybeki, mine is perhaps too, I have no church as such the church is the great expanse of sky and the deep dark woods, all are within me, expressions of what I see and feel, hear and smell, as you say here in your charming poem. Yours Ann of Norway

Ann, I’m honoured this

Ann, I'm honoured this charmed you into leaving your mark :) I was brought up in the christian church, so although, as the poem suggests I worship a little differently now, I find I still use the jargon of it, well those words I remain comfortable with. I was so struck by the expanse of sky when I moved to Wiltshire, it's so flat here, just makes the sky seem so huge to me, I've grown to love it :) really glad you 'got' this one Ann! :)much love b xx

you little Celtic rock hugger

You Druidess, Boadica from the islands. Love this Bek, can I point out a typo, Valleys, and there was something in the fourth stanza, a still port in a raging sea the eye of the storm in the centre that is me. in the centre of me seems a little abrupt and jarring maybe? Love your new pic, your little one is a darlin'. Cheers and love to ya. Craig

:) thanks Craig, I knew

:) thanks Craig, I knew valleys was wrong, it's been niggling at me for days! lol will edit now! So glad you enjoyed this write and am a bit humbled by your comment, Boudica eh? that's something!! I will consider your suggestion regarding that line in the 4th stanza, the centre is me but am I more than my centre? Oh such great stuff to think on, thanks again Craig and glad you love the pic, she's a bit gorgeous isn't she? (I'm rather biased of course!) much love b xx
