Winter 4

The white wraith of Winter,
Haunted with icy gales,
Howling persistently outside
Our little hunting cabin
In the wild.

Cat!

I'm an alliteration junkie, so of course my favorite is the opening line. Nice little write about winter, though it's a wee bit early for it. =( I want to enjoy warm weather for just a little longer. ~Jess K. ----------------------- "Handle every situation like a dog: if you can't eat it, or screw it, then piss on it and walk away!" - unknown

The vastness of winter blows through this one ... its simply wonderful ... and I sit awed that you can apply so many facets to each poem and no two are alight, on the same subject, thats a real gift my friend ... I swear, writing these little Winter poems is a real addiction. They are like eating potato chips... you can't eat just one. But this is my last, before someone tells me to knock it off, lol. Always, Cat

From where I come, it is very warm but even through the heat I could feel the winter you describe. Reminds me of a painting of a Canadian Artist (Cant remember his name) depicting the sombre shades of a Canadian Winter when everything looks quite desolate and lonely. It is amazing how artists and poets resemble each other in their work. Leonard

hello Leonard

You are so right about artists and poets. I have often been inspired by paintings. Thank you so much for reading and for your comments. I've seen a bit of Canada in the summer, but never winter, I bet it is beautiful. Always, Cat

By the way, I am a great lover of cats. The one you have become associated with is beautiful. Tell me something about him/her. Leonard

but of course...

I would love to tell you about my boy, Benny. His formal name is Bennington, but he has several nick-names, including bugsy, spoof and fuzzy modo. He is a Seal Point Birman, We got him in Ohio from a breeder, along with his brother Beau who is a Blue Point Birman. Benny has such soft silky fur that I just love to pet him. He is a very playful and curious cat, he gets into everything and carries his toys around in his mouth. He often sleeps upside down in the craziest positions. He has a very sweet disposition and loves to meet new people. We have four cats. Someday I will post the rest of their pictures, one at a time. Thank you for asking about Benny, one of my favorite subjects, lol. Always, Cat

Dear Cat

Winter feels like an icy diamond, lighted with the many views and feelings we have of the Season, which reminds me that Christmas is not too far really. Now that's a beautiful feeling, just like the words in your little poem. Greetings, Hugo

Ohio gets her comeuppance in

Ohio gets her comeuppance in winter. It's not easy being alone, even if I have my *foot kitty* ~ Mimi. Loved your poem, Cat. For some reason it reminds me of a Thomas Kinkade painting, although I think his spring/summer paintings are more recognized. ~A

hi Anna

I lived in Medina Ohio back about six years ago, when my hubby worked for G. E. We were only there for two years as he got a better offer from a company in Minnesota. Now we live just over the Wisconsin border across from Minnesota. I loved Ohio in the Fall. Thanks for the high complement by comparison to a Thomas Kinkade painting, I love his work. Always, Cat
