In the meadows

In The Meadows

In the meadows
Little girls chase after dandelions
And little boys chase after girls
Experiencing love for the first

On the prairies
Farmers worked their fields
And harvest their crops
To love and care for their families

In Jerusalem
Archaeologist digs for artifacts
Revealing a prehistoric life, nobody remembers
To be the first to find an ancient world

Scuba divers discover sunken ships
Hundreds of miles below sea level
Claiming buried treasure scattered abroad
For the love of the sea

In Australia
An Aussie found beauty and love
Climbing a mountain four o’clock in the morning
To be the first to see the sunrise

I know not what love is
But I write about it nonetheless

Glad you like, I started writing this late last night and decided to go to sleep and finish it this morning. I have written this poem three different way and posted it to another site two different ways. This one was for Neopoet. Jess is a great friend and after revising for the first two I thought I might stick this stanza in at the end for him as a third poem. Tricky tricky *S* It crossed my mind that some others may have climb that same mountain and might enjoy the memory too. Thanks for reading, commenting, and sharing your mountain climbing experience. I envy you all who have those experiences. PS: The love of nature I may never experience but I enjoy writing about it nonetheless. ~~~~~~~~~ Be whoever you are At all times, and Remember that Because of this, people will Always Respect, and Admire you ©2008Leonard Respectfully Yours, Barbara

Glad you like it and thanks for commenting and reading. Glad I could bring a smile, nice memories, and good wishes this morning before leaving for my spiritual food at 12:30. I too would like to climb that mountain, but that would only happen in my imaginative eye this late in my life. *Smile* ~~~~~~~~~ Be whoever you are At all times, and Remember that Because of this, people will Always Respect, and Admire you ©2008Leonard Respectfully Yours, Barbara

This is one wonderful and

This is one wonderful and beautiful poem. One of your best if not the best, imo. Thank you for taking us all over the world, to places forever unknown and to places we can only imagine. ~A Don’t let your victories go to your head, or your failures go to your heart.
