MELANCHOLY

 MELANCHOLY

Oh heavy coat of sadness

in the inner heart like madness,

please describe your art,

that I may know your part

is sent to try my dreamed dismay

to light now yet another day.

No, fear you shall not have,

my strength, you so behave

as if you were the leader

and I a mere pleader

for peace of mind and joy,

why you these tactics now employ.

I wish no burden on my friends,

life has so many curves and bends,

no sadness turn their heads,

so let that now be clearly said.

But why just now such sighing

when nobody is dying,

was it the elephant,

who expressed his deepest want......

love it

Dear A., I love it, the whole idea of it. I wonder did you change the pattern in the third stanza on purpose? I like it and it really works either way. I wish no burden on my friends life has so many curves and bends no sadness turn their heads so let that now be clearly said I'm not sure, I might like your way better. P.

Dear Pamela

Ann of Norway I think your turn of phrase here is good and will adopt it if you think I could, yes it was only in a letter form, where one doesn't study the poetry so well and I haven't worked on it! You are great having come with your astute mind and perused this enough to give it better form, you are such a master at that, and I thank you Pamela. Love Ann.

for sure

Dear A., I thank you for your kind words. but alas, I cannot take the credit. God gave me this as a gift to keep me sane else wise I might slip away. For sure you may adopt it if it pleases you. P.

Hey Ann, mind if I hitch a ride? Yeah, they're way too big when we wear tons of grey melancholy, dashed by human frailty. ~A "A poem is never finished, only abandoned." ~ Paul Valery

I could never see you as melancholy, well perhaps a little, as we're all human. You're a sold rock to your friends on Neopoet and as much as I like this poem, I'm reading from it that you're a little downhearted at the moment? Rosina xena465

Dear Barry,

Ann of Norway Dear Barry, You throw me the greened waterfall leaves like a soft confetti, so touched by their silky smoothness I gather them up in the eddies of the banks, there, where the wild flowers nod their approval of your lovely comment; yes they say with their perfumes and yes with their shiny new petals opened to reveal their spray of dithering yellow stamens, your red pistil straight pointing at the blue heavens to attract the passing bees, gathering the honeyed words of your thoughts. Thank you, Ann with love.

Bravo Ann!

Had a moment this morning to stop and read something. Truly glad I found yours. This is a fantastic ride of a read. The flow took me straight away; across each well placed and selected word and syllable. I love it. Have a grand day, Nathaniel
