War of Worlds...

A cloud of mushroom spores spreads across many lands

Father figures keeping their children safe from the boogie-man

Tales told of happiness, not seen from that point of view

Lands of milk and honey, only a trap for your soul

Suffering and sacrifice is the way to heaven

Enjoy what you are given, take nothing for yourself

Give death and destruction to the world of plenty

Seek paradise with bombs and bullets

Words of wisdom spoken, make a sentence of dispair

So men go to war....seeking freedom from oppression

War of Worlds

Thank you, for the high praise. But I didn't complete what I set out to do, I meant to show that the very ones that set the dogs upon us, were the same that took advantage of the wealth and power they supposedly opposed. I just took it for granted, that everyone sees it. There are very few of the despots that practice what they preach. Maybe I will have another go at it. ~ many hugs, and lotta love, Gee

not gonna argue withyou on spiritual points

Well written. But men go to war for corporate profit and political adnantage. Cheers, Jess, “The political arena leaves one no alternative, one must either be a dunce or a rogue.” Emma Goldman

Spiritual points...

I won't deny the accuracy of that statement. However, I guess the line: Tales told of happiness, not seen from that point of view, was just a little too obscure. I will think on these thoughts, and see if I cannot make it clearer, that the country-men of these dogmatic charlatans, are duped into believing that giving up their lives, and suffering the ravages of poverty, benifits their souls, while the leadership enjoys the profit. Be it country or corporation, greed is the root of all evil, not money. Thanks for the read and comment, Gee

War of Worlds

Thank you, I tried to show that the people who are in poverty are goaded into believing that they are being oppressed by those who have plenty, by their leaders, who do not have to live the way their people live, by virtue of birth [royalty], and religious status. ~ Gee

you are right

Those who have less are opressed by their leaders/the wealthy. They are forced to try and keep up with those standards of living and sometimes it is near impossible. Very well put.

War

Hi, i think the title is ok, but what about calling it something like Boogie man for the soul? it reminds me a little of a Bruce Springsteen song. I think it is an effective comment the state of things.

New title....Hmmmm....

I guess,[in retrospect] I was in much too big a hurry to post this one. I agree, this not only needs a rewrite, but a new title as well. I will take your suggestion into consideration. Thanks much, for your comments and praise. ~ Geezer

This was an interesting read

This was an interesting read geez. I had to read the comments, but I think I understand what your writing there. I liked the style of the write very much :) It seems to me, maybe it's just how I read it, that there is a change in pace after "Suffering and sacrifice is the way to heaven." just wanted to note I liked that, wheather it was intentional or just the way I read it. Peace and cheers, logic

interesting read...

You are right, there was a change of pace after that line, it wasn't intentional, but just went that way naturally. I'm glad that you liked it. I am working on a re-write, and will post it as soon as it is done. I have some other things that I want to post, in the mean-time. So stay tuned. Thanks for the read and comments. ~ Gee

Chill...

Thank you Lyz, I was angry,[am angry]. I am angry at the idea of the leaders of the world, that they profit,[politically, and other-wise] from making war. ~ Gee
