SHIVER DOWN THE GLASS
Small mean 'O' of mouth
on frosted glass
between us
The ambient temperature
dropped to zero
after you told me
you were leaving
What I really want to do
is shiver down the glass into
razor shards
and cut you out my life
Throw the rocks
you placed by the door
to scare off the
crows
through the gaping hole in my
frigid heart
I scare off the human form
left like a gauze on the glass
The you I loved
is now in minuscule fragments
ne'er to be glued with
the silica of calm
Now the reflect is
annihilated
you are erased from view
I'm free to construct new
panes
placed at different angles to
capture the dying light
left to me
on frosted glass
between us
The ambient temperature
dropped to zero
after you told me
you were leaving
What I really want to do
is shiver down the glass into
razor shards
and cut you out my life
Throw the rocks
you placed by the door
to scare off the
crows
through the gaping hole in my
frigid heart
I scare off the human form
left like a gauze on the glass
The you I loved
is now in minuscule fragments
ne'er to be glued with
the silica of calm
Now the reflect is
annihilated
you are erased from view
I'm free to construct new
panes
placed at different angles to
capture the dying light
left to me
