"CROW"

"CROW"
Margaret Ann Waddicor
9th February 2011.

Caw crow,
your crookéd walk
a waddle like a duck ,
your cawing fills the wood,
as black and sharp you croak
to originate suspicion's cloak of soot
to cause alarm,
our words in mysteries and myths,
your messages, your shadows cast
on damsels, villages in distress,
or enchanting maidens far away
to places still unknown.

In a Corner of Heart of Sedona Coffee Shop

Corner curtains drawn
In Heart of Sedona shop
Eleven gather

Souls seek to render poems
Clangs of coffee cups compete
Carlo’s rough throat cracks

Foretells fresh goodwill
Surrounding mother nature
Snakes become our friends

Mokasiya scales
Red rock crowns of mesas
And dreams of love poems

About grasshopper
Chirps from long hind legs; insects
Eager for ardor

Marita recites
Endearments for Mom and Dad
And Tennessee walks

Train of thought...

Train of thought….

In a cigarette smoke
filled atmosphere
Carl Philip’s music
played, ..
Buddy took the stage
to dodge, insult.

John hoped he’d get
his shot as George,
heard a Harp,
play gentle.

Dylan cried words,
on strawberry
fields. They’d groan,
he doesn’t care
to reign.

Then a guy gave a
Silly perverse, wave
to Paul as he
left the building,
scrabbled into a limo
and was gone

PROMISE OF SPRING (I'm gonna let ya'll title this)

Slogging through late winter wood
retrieving a hunting stand
since early autumn it has stood
guarding a view once grand

Damn! Stepped in an old stump hole
fell down and sprained my knee
I didn't say "Why bless my soul."
used a different type vocabulary

Man, the whole wide world looks dead
the only color's evergreen
beneath a sky as gray as lead
I wish that I was still a teen

HOOD AND WOLFIE

how the bodice
black encompasses
your warmth
the red velvet
against your dark brow
and pale eye

we can feel the stream beneath
our bridge in forest dark
and hear her whisper

how its been Ive missed your
hands upon my coat
your words against my ear

in our glade
in our time
I wait

forever......

Oh! Connoisseurs of Love MODIFIED

Teenage

At your teenage
You must do more
Than you say
you’d do
In a life time...

Teenage comes just once
That’s why
Though grown in age
I’m still,
in teenage

Have some fun
Your life has just begun,
My teen age
Is still in rage
Even at my physical stage.

Just A Little Cold...

A tormented twist of blankets, and sodden sheets
Head pounding, body hurting, knees and chin meet
The cramps of my bowels, drive me to cry
I see nightmares of dying, in my mind's eye

This condition is something I got for free
Though I didn't ask, it was given to me
Someone thought, that they should pass it on gratis
If I knew who it was, I'd kick their asses

Oh, "Mister Whiskers!"

Oh, "Mister Whiskers!"
you're funny, tonight
you're quite a picture
and, quite a sight!

You play with the, big cats
and, play by yourself,
you see, invisible gnats
like some feline, "elf"!

You scamper, around
and, scurrie away,
with each, little sound
you're finding, new prey!

You take off, so fast
it doesn't, seem fair,
where your tail, 'twas, last
now, it's no longer there!

Mountain Cattle

Let me explain the title -

Mountain cattle = Highland cows
Scottish vernacular; cow = coo
Coos on mountain side = high coos

Fresh snowdrops shiver.
North wind rages at new growth;
Not yet time for spring.
