GOOD FORTUNE

I think so very often
About life through all the years,
About so very many things
The hope, the dreams, the tears.

Perhaps the worlds a mystery
And life a single door,
I hope there is a place in time
That shows me so much more.

So many seem to struggle
Each day and through the years,
I know my own good fortune
So few troubles, needs, or fears.

I think it's more than fortune
I think it might be fate,
Perhaps I'll never really know
Or I just might have to wait.

Don't sweat the small stuff

Small things are no matter,
Not the noise, not the chatter.
No matter those moments,
And their minority components.

Like a pebble on the shore,
Only trouble when there's more.
In it's solitude it's harmless,
A safe and sure calmness.

But when such pebbles are cast,
And their presence are vast.
Leaves destruction in its wake,
In erosion, it's no mistake.

And so in life we can see,
How small things can be.
No problem on their own,
Just an issue when grown.

Romance on the Rocks...

Her voice goes out to the ebon sky
The sax is slow and reedy
The patio is old and worn
The hotel, downtown, seedy

Oooohhh baabbyy, love is just a liiiiie
Saxophone's asking the questions
Wondering what went so very wrong
She's missing those lovely sensations

Blue moons are for fools and lovers
The ones who hurt your heart
Salesmen sell themselves to you
Should've known right from the start

One Man March

A man was marching through his mind.
An empty cell to fulfill his time.
Long before he traveled lands,
He blistered truth with burned up hands.
Many miles and water sailed out for nothing,
and still he failed.
A man was marching into space.
An endless look expressed his face.
This forced impression along the ride,
Consumed illusions to take his pride.
The need for more to take the fall.
Below the belt and made to crawl.
A man was marching into lead,
He used his guilt to count his greed.

Change

I am going to change starting tomorrow

No more my feelings will I let you borrow

You like telling me what I can and cannot do

After tonight I will no longer listen to you

Master manipulator, you just cannot see

I am manipulating you by letting you manipulate me

Rain on my parade, and have your fun

Tomorrow there will be one hundred percent Sun

Tonight use and abuse me, but when dawn cracks

You will look, but I will have made my tracks

Dream Dad

I had a dream-dad many years ago,
before the bitter breeze began to blow.
He was a god, a Titan, so it seemed,
but that may be a dream that once I dreamed.

This dad, he was immortal, so it seemed,
but as I said before, I may have dreamed,
(and in this dream there was no dread demise
to dawn on me with savage, stern surprise.)

This dad, who I did worship and adore,
was born with old Achilles’ fatal flaw:
his heart, it was a bubble ‘bout to burst;
this ageless Adonais, he was cursed!

These thoughts

These thoughts that distort my memories
And tinker with my dreams
Are deciphered through endless paper reams
These thoughts that stop. Me sleeping
Lead to conclusions false
My mind spinning, dancing a never ending waltz
These thoughts make and break me
Both At the same time
They wriggle from my brain
And tingle down my spine
They weigh heavy upon my shoulders
And travel down my wrists
They flutter through my fingers
And with one last clench of fists
They leave me relieved

Pray that greed departs

I won't be buying £4 ketchup,
Nor any other over inflated thing.
I won't be buying expensive coffee,
Greedy people can go swing.

I won't be giving my loyalty,
To those who rob us blind,
I won't be lining the pockets,
Of the greedy and the unkind.

I'm not sorry for my opinions,
Nor the decisions that I make.
I don't feel sorry for the greedy,
Not the actions that they take.

Do you hear me?

Do you hear me?
I know you don't
Confinement, I don't speak.
I want to.
When I do, there's
Repetition,
Iterations,
A barrier holding me back
Words leak
I wonder when I'll explode
Or will there be silence?
An abandoned voice fading away
Out of existence?
Do you hear me?
For I did once.

Challenge-Breaking News- An Awakening Joy

An awakening joy
when it comes to see
for mankind to
foster prosperity
with harmony
present in a scenery
display on the sky
with the smile of joining
hands together in unity
through the sharing of love
from the spreading seed
to convey the message across
it needs to start with everyone
educate our youth and citizens
to build trust and understanding
with an open mind to hear
to let hatred goes free
instilled respect and care
promote peace here
to make this world
