THE THORNED ROSE

THE THORNED ROSE

there was no softness
in your anger
no love in your eyes
those times
that made a young heart
stop beating.

Your tears became mine.
I was your child
not your consolation.

And the day you died
did you see me
standing by your side
or was I
your last illusion

DITTO repeated twice over

also
well I'm not a tyrant expert ..
as a scientist having interacted
with such folks Leo's
and having studied the human mind
over continents ...
in the passed few decades,
I have come to my own
philosophy of knowledge.

powerful write

sometimes the simplest statements really get to you, like this, i'm usually pretty critical but I think this is as good as a brief poem gets.
ah, one thing capital 'T' in 'There.."
