In the Valley of Death and Love
My Tigers played good
Ran the big plays
Got out played
A big mouth, no humility
Two clowns poking fun
Sore winner take all
Loud mouth quarter back
It's just a game
Win some, loose one
In Tigertown
Stomped by noles
Defense shut down
In death valley
Clemson will be back
But in love-town, a lonely traveler
Walks the dark road of life
Through valley of love
Thought she connected
But you cut the power
To her love for you
In football
She saw a path to you heart
A iceberg is what she found
Game over, another lost
Like the clowns at the end
You had to be cruel
You come with apologies
Sad faces, seeking truces
It gets old
There's no water in desserts
No love in your heart
A cactus is what you become
The Tigers will regroup
But our love
Lost the test of time
Stripped of dignity and respect
My resistance is no more
Ship wrecked by your hurtful words
Motionless at the bottom of the sea
My love for you
Rest in peace

You GO GIRL! Cynicism and no regrets is what I'm getting here. Gloria Gaynor anybody!? ;)
There's no water in desserts
No love in your heart
A cactus is what you become

Hi Barb,
I have no criticism, just appreciation of the poem.
Absolutely, painfully wonderful with emotion, fatalism and anger.
Bookmarked.
