For Lady Jayne

Across the sea in wee Taree
a lady bard resides
her name is Jayne and soothing rain
her poetry provides

she writes of kings and needful things
of pleasure and concern
tales of old and fires bold
within her verses burn

beyond the pale of Fairy tale
her words are songs of sooth
she bares her soul to reach a goal
transcending paltry truth

through the years she’s faced all fears
and triumphed through her trials
battled pain and more again
yet still her beauty smiles

her will is strong and like her song
it comes from deep within
that special place behind her face
where Austral dreams begin

Serenity and sanity
shine brightly from her eyes
compelling us to end our fuss
and share her bright surprise
