Autumn Rises Summer Falls (September Contest)
Autumn rises summer falls
In the month of September
Chilling days come rolling in
Like a plane ride to Honolulu.
Autumn rises summer falls
Sunny days have gone away
Green grasses die turn brown
Dandelions cease to fly.
Autumn rises summer falls
Hot days butterflies
Changed to chilly days
Mosquitoes cease to fly.
Autumn rises summer falls
The trees are changing colors
Red, yellow, brown and green
The best season of them all.

A neat write, the only thing not on my menu was the flight to Honolulu, it didn't seem to fit in, was there a reason to fly there??
Yours as always Ian.xx

Thanks Honolulu is there bc I vacationed there for a week last week of July
It makes sense that it don't fit but somehow in my backwards mind it found its wY in. My one eye is feeling better these days. I simply can't keep up with the reading without losing my sight considerably
But will do as much as I can when I can.

Juxtaposition new word
I suppose I write real poetry when I don't know I'm doing it lol. Being a detailed annoying person I'm glad it's appreciated in poetry. Lol. Felt poetic and this contest was right up my interest. Glad to be here

Nice one Barbara. I wonder if
Nice one Barbara. I wonder if Autum rises would have worked better than Autumn rise, not sure, just a thought.

Refrain
My memory for poetry style tend to lapse when I write a poem but am happy the refrain and juxtaposed came through so well.

Global warming
It is true Summer lingers and fall delays. The switching tho is hard to adjust.
