SOLITUDE

I put the lights to dim
sitting at my PC listening
to the winter wind.
I am alone in a world
of my own, committed
to no one; peaceful for now
in my solitude.

no one around to talk
about the slow, and horrible end
that pursues
a truth I didn’t want to know
Is out there now again

And so I put the lights to dim
and write my thoughts
as they come…
I don’t let anyone in
to see the hell I'm from...

Time is 00-49 am "Night Young Man"
A few days later:-
Joe solitude is the worse thing anyone can inflict upon themselves, it takes away all reason for being and is a cold lonely place to dwell..
I have written a piece on Solitude in my series of "The Great Bears Wisdom" I shall post it to you in PM as it is not a poem but a short write.
If you must be alone then live with the memories of all the good things you have had, they will lift your Spirit, carry on writing Joe you have much to give us,

you are not alone

some poets moan
when not alone
nor all alone
in company of many
they are lonely

some poets run after fame
and
when there better halves
enjoy with some one else
a lovers game
such poets are put to shame

you are not alone
solitude is your best company
as circumstances keep you away
the dimmed lights say
come abide with me
you are not lonely
see how much of light is in me
so very dim

We all need time to ourselves

We all need time to ourselves, but only for brief moments. To face the existential question of what happens next, you need someone to distract your mind.

my friend,

with so many humans on this earth,
privacy can sometimes be hard to find.
solitude is a choice you make on your own
loneliness is the soul's inability to connect.
doesn't mean that you're lonely when you're alone
when you log in here, you're not alone
unless the others are not responding,
To tell you the truth, I DO enjoy being alone
when I can relax and do my writing...
Maybe one day I'll be bored and want company
but for now I'm still happy to be single and free!
