Life is a feeble thing

Life is a feeble thing
I find myself contemplating the brevity
I find myself considering the fragility
Choices are made daily
And we hope that they are right
What kind of brokenness is this
That one would so love a life
And then see it given to strife
The struggles are more than skin deep
There is a wrestling soul deep within
Some sort of a battle that’s timeless
Transcending generations of kin
The sins of the father among us
But that is not all that there is
In pursuits of light we can conquer
We can breathe a new breathe again

that and chance

follow the right rules and some idiot
screams through a red at sixty
hitting the drivers door
strong..mighty weak
physics does the rest

no one wants to go
except the tortured like Scot Weiland
singer for Velvet Revolver..I liked
him before he went and still do!

I loved Janis Joplin!
okay they were artists..I knew many
ordinary too..some caught the Big C
others went by their own hand..
maybe they are at peace now..
They were pretty haunted....

feeble.....I think of the heartbeat!!
I remember a girl who loved putting
her hand on my chest and feeling
my heartbeat
I was hugging my dog one day
when she was happy when we
came home...running in circles
feet splayed...head down
happy smile before going round
and round and round
I didnt mean too look for it.
but when I felt its happy thud
thud thud I knew that Life
is a tenacious thing!!!
that little wavy line
and beep beep beep
(hospital admissions for
myself and friends!!)
It is feeble

and sacred

thank U for this poem Cari!
