Fulfillment

I stood in fresh anticipation when
the early wind set out to flirt and tease;
she mussed my hair, fetched scent of dew, and then
my lungs were filled, kissed by a bracing breeze.
At last the blazing, crimson gleam appeared,
the underside of azure clouds were sprayed;
my heart aglow as now the dawning neared,
then amber shafts split faerie haze and played.

Such joy revealed at summit of the climb
for one who stands, to drink God’s grace alone;
the just reward for pain of former time,
ten days ago a breast was split and sewn.

Restart to life, let surgeons have their due,
so like the charm of each day born anew.

Thanks Jerry

It's amazing how one can read a piece over and over, always seeing what you meant to write rather than what was actually written.

I would so much love to crit this on content,

but can not bring myself to. The emotion, the structure, not a word, syllable or feeling out of place.
This fits so well what Keats said-
'Beauty is truth, truth beauty,' - that is all ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.

An exceptional piece, my friend.

This

is just one of a few poems written about the subject around the time it was current.
