NO EXCUSE

Staring at a page of white
waiting on my muse
to supply something good to write.
I get no hints, no clues.

I close my eyes, let old mind drift
(that has worked for me before)
but nothing crosses writing's rift.
All that comes is Susan's snore.

Next I read a bit of Frost
to see how writing should be done
in a form that's almost lost.
Results on this empty night? none.

How about a nature story ?
I fear my readers tire of those.
Even nature can lose its glory
like a king without his clothes.

I furrow my brow and scratch my head
and other spots best left unnamed.
Tonight for me the muse is dead
and my pen remains un-aimed.

I stare until I sit upright,
stand up and pick prodigious nose
then decide to call tonight a night.
Tonight..nothing; no ink flows.

Hey

Thank you. When building our new house I had to install extra bracing to prevent that snoring from shaking it apart lol......stan

lies all blatant lies

so much said
so much ink has flowed
ask Niagara
US of A
where its ink goes
in between Stan's pens and nose
snore more Lady Susan
you have just delivered
another poetic man

hope one day he will also be my fan
today I keep requesting only
running fast faster
besides

he flies
Lovedly cries
after so many dawns
we two like siblings
were born

POLES APART
HE AT ANTARTICA
I as ARTICA
am I right???

Hi loved

Appreciate your dropping by. The Niagara on this site is You, not me. It seems lately I'm doing well to post 3-4 times per week........stan

greetings jane

Thanks for such kind comment. I almost said emperor with no clothes but decided to say king instead to avoid total theft of an over used phrase........stan

This is...

a pretty damn good write for posting right to the stream. I donn't see anything that I can point to, to make it better. ~ Gee.

Dear Stan

i have so much im locked into..tending homes...meetings..my friends..
that vortex of dedication was much
it swamped me
anxiety depression
i was just starting to get out there
but too late..the haters may have
got part of what I love
my dog
but...shes home
her ashes
now im free
to roam

your trail poems i inhaled
like the news im tired of the
bitterness of this and that
is that all one can say
in the wood travells
we carried much
and the troupe for whiners
put them to silence
no turning back
unless real excuses
they knew
shut up and bended to
the load....
i belonged enough to actual
working packs
i shit U not

I love your forest poems and treks
the respect of the view you have
is a kindness now sold stolen
and forfeited
in the modern slant
I never sold my humanity
nor lent it for a bad trick
but held it close

still

love this wholE mUSe
lost poem
showing me you have the
fortitude and heart
even from the bench
to write poetic virtue
then feeble excuse
as I thought

thank U ever so much
poet friend
the times are drawing
the wheat
from the
mere
chaff..

Look

out your window and force yourself to write a description of what you see. Or you can always write a poem making fun of a certain southern guy's inability to scan right lol

I like

how bare this poem is. Relieving to my mind in some way.

There is always a poem to be written somewhere, though, whether it is deep in the subconscious or the preconscious or whatever consciousnessnesses we are discussing. You just have to dig.
