AC Election: Announcement (April 2018)

Our election will begin in the evening on Wednesday, April 4, with the following individuals on the ballot:

Description: Help in finishing some poems which are well begun. Each participant will post one unfinished poem. Two other participants will be assigned to complete the poem. All will be accompanied by discussion.

When dawn is up
with greener hues
and genuine colors
got more to infuse,
when eyes catch more
of magical views
to leash the boredom
and all the blues,
when the sun's warmer
on the sandy dunes
and the back yards din
with tons of tunes,
when quills in ink
dance with muse
and sing up with
or without the flutes,
when the media's up
with Only good news
Just then I'll think
It's Spring.

Hard and soft;
I press myself into you.

The bass hits me
like a stone
hits the surface
of a still lake.

I'm lost in your aroma,
caught up in your cadence.

I brush myself over your tip—
I breathe you in—
I tongue,
and lap,
and slither
my way to your core.

Erect and lapsed,
you lay back and relax;
your breath quickens
and I take my time.

You arch forward
and caress my fever—
it's too much.

Some call it the abyss others call it a gate
that thing that awaits us at the other side.
I guess I just call it my final fate
there at the end of my long glide.

I first glimpsed it many years ago
watching older folks approaching it
some with acceptance others with hot rage.
I still don't know which required the greater grit.

Long years passed by as is their way
too many wasted like old news paper
crumpled then tossed into the burning fray
all while life's spiral gained a steeper taper.
