Silly Me

I travelled once to the land of imagery
Where I bumped into a poe-tree
That fruits a tasting variety
Of alliteration and simile
I dunno, they fell on me
Ever since I scribble poetry.

A funny take...

on what we poets do. I'm not sure when I was first really attracted to poetry and thinking that I could do that! I like the way you brought our attention to [similes, alliteration and imagery] and the clever
poe-tree line. ~ Geezer.

Gee

Much appreciate your kind visit. I hoped that this would bring more traffic of poets telling how did they start their scrabbling.
Much appreciate it.

Many thanks. In fact It's the tree thing that I was looking for rather than the transcription of the word, but I do appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

Hi Rula

That same dang tree fell on me TWICE. Once about 50 years ago when I wrote my first poem. But my hard head didn't take the first hint so another treee was felled on me about 10 years ago when I promptly wrote my second poem lol. Enjoyed you light hearted but hardly silly poem........stan

Just rereading

I love this as it is... but wondered if you wanted it to have a neater rhythmic flow you could try these two last lines to keep the fit better?

"I travelled once to the land of imagery
Where I bumped into a poe-tree
That fruits a tasting variety
Of alliteration and simile"

I dunno how, they fell on me
Ever since I scribble poetry.

Just a thought xx

Silly Me

I love it and the length is perfect. A very clever piece in which I love the imagery of the tree. This is a keeper! Thankyou
