• Who will save the land •

The land is hungry because of the goats;
The farmers harvest not the seed they planted for yesteryear's
All the vegetable leaves and crops dies in the mouth of goats.
The backyard chamber of yam, cassava and cocoyam
are robbed by night goats of the land.
Farmers mourn and pray looking up the Sky
Who will save the land?
A question that need a response;
they need answers for what befalls them.
The goats are on the throne.

Funny that...

you liken your country's rulers to goats. There are many around the world that depict "The Devil, Satan, Beezelbub and many of the dark overlords of Hell as goats! I found that you painted the scene in your world very well. I don't have any suggestions for you, but hope that you can refine it and feel comfortable with the results. ~ Geezer.

Goats

This poem can be taken literally. A study was done once that revealed a lot of what is now desert was made that way by goats. Line 2 try yesteryear instead of yesteryear's and see if you like it better

Good poem, Umeh, I can relate

Good poem, Umeh, I can relate to the goats devastating the land. I live in Argentine Patagonia and all animals with cloven hooves turn green lands or steppes into desert. Our native guanacos are Camelidae with padded feet, so they never harm the lands. Goats and sheep nibble bushes right down to the roots, so they never survive. They were brought over by the pioneers.
You have some small grammatical or punctuation mistakes, but all in all it's very well written. I'll return for another reading.
