Mama
The storm before the dawn
The sunset and rise
On the other side she smiles
Passed on but never gone.
A stormy path
The rugged road
On the other side she folded
Passed on I heard her laugh.
There’s nothing to cause her harm
The moonrise in her goodnight
On the other side she waved goodbyes
Passed on but never gone.
She went into the goodnight
Two yellow daisies, butterflies
a piece of her and him on this side
Passed on but never gone with the clouds.

Hello Barbara, what a
Hello Barbara, what a beautiful poem, it really makes one cry. I've always felt sad because it never occurred to me to thank my parents for the good upbringing they gave me. My Mom read poetry and stories when I was still in the cradle and my Dad sent me to a local rural school where my little friends were either mestizos or indigenous.
My favorite strophe is the one pasted below:
The storm before the dawn
The sunset and rise
On the other side she smiles
Passed on but never gone.
I feel the same, our loved ones live on in our memory. Thanks for sharing this caring poem with all of us. God bless your Mama and you and your family, Gracy

Thanks Gracy
I’m glad you like it. Glad it was comforting to you. I read it at her graveside service. We didn’t have a funeral so lots of people Saw the posting on Facebook and came to our surprise.
