We
Linger
Breath is heard
Static carries
We
pause;
Bartering acknowledgements
bonded, yet, Solitary
Timing has confirmation now
to deftly
disconnect, diffusing the rot,
suffocating
the new blooms.

I think it also gives us the option of dis-engagment when we tire of the obligation of making polite conversation; when you would rather be doing something else. LoL Don't we all have at least one personal relationship that when we see them coming or get them on the phone, we say to ourselves; "Oh crap! ? BTW welcome back ~ Geezer.
