Archipelago

We
Linger
Breath is heard
Static carries

We
pause;
Bartering acknowledgements
bonded, yet, Solitary

Timing has confirmation now

to deftly
disconnect, diffusing the rot,
suffocating
the new blooms.

I think...

that I get it. As another said recently, we are alone and solitary, except for the people that we communicate with through the internet. "Writing in solitary rooms that we will never see". Have we let ourselves become too dependent on electronic communication and faraway neighbors? Should we disconnect and re-engage on a more personal level? I'm not sure. I definitely would miss many of my friends in faraway places. I think it also gives us the option of dis-engagment when we tire of the obligation of making polite conversation; when you would rather be doing something else. LoL Don't we all have at least one personal relationship that when we see them coming or get them on the phone, we say to ourselves; "Oh crap! ? BTW welcome back ~ Geezer.
