A Flunked Poet's Prayer
St. Catherine, St. Catherine,
For aid once more I come to you.
I know, you are the blessed saint
Who could help me and others, too.
I find myself in darkest woods
And see you as a guiding light,
The essence that would lift my mind
Out of this present mental night.
St. Catherine, St. Catherine,
Before I grow dense like a tree,
Please help me clear my thoughts to write
Elating lines, true poetry
That pleases all, but mostly me.
I pray to you, please make me rise
Above all mediocrity—
And help those other needy guys.

Hi Ray,
this desperate "poet" has turned to saints, such a St. Catherine of Alexandria, in the hope for inspiration. So far I don't feel inspired; I must have picked the wrong saint. Still desperate for inspiration. Thanks for commenting, kind sir. Van.
