Prisoner In Disguise
Energy and passion waiting to be released
a prisoner of my own thoughts
far to long
The energy and passion
of living and loving life
for what may be left
of mine
Thoughts rage to and fro
a mind gone wild
with what was , is and can be
but where does it start
and where does it end
Twisted thoughts go round
so many paths to follow
but to where do they lead
I need to be sure
of my footing
lest I stumble and fall
I want to live
I want to go on
perhaps find love once again
not in the images of the past
But those that tend the future
I am still alive
I still feel
I still have passion
I still can love

A prison of our own design
Your piece so eloquently stats that putting one foot in front of the other is the way of it;
To continue on in courage
To stand up to the heart’s fragility with determination.
Nicely done.

Dear Chrys;
your last two strophes express so much. "No man (or woman) is an Island," in particular a woman. Go for it, dear lady.
Wishing you the very best, Jerry
