OLDIES
Sitting on this cloudy day
beyond the panes where squirrels play;
I hardly pay them any heed
none of their antics played at high speed.
For I'm immersed in sixties songs
of love and fear, of rights and wrongs
that carry me back to the time
when I'd not written a single rhyme.
Back to friends no longer here
Back to my first taste of beer
Back to youth lived wild and free
Back to discovering the real me.
I close my eyes I'm almost there
with that young girl with whom I'd share
a life time of joys and sorrows,
all my yesterdays , all my tomorrows.
I think of those who have loved me
that time has shed like leaves from a tree
till now very few rattle in the wind
as they and I approach our end.
I sit listening, remembering
as guitars strum the ghosts sing
taking me back to that lost place.
Why,now, do tears stream down my face?

I am moving west now
to colorado. it's been sorta hard to keep up with things lately due to that. Plus am working on getting a new book ready for publishing.
I'm going to need to pass on the workshop this time. I would like to be considered for a future one, tho!

I have now @ 82 realized
how we are still surviving
in a FOOL'S PARADISE
just awaiting the realisation
of what a silly life is
hopefully
nice stan you got published
hope you will feel happy
some one still reads ye
LIKE SHAKESPEARE
he turns in his grave
may be three times daily
may you long live
