Limerick contest entry
the folks from Nantucket are glum
because limericks make them look dumb
their confusion makes sense
'cuz the truth is- they're dense
let's dispense with the pestering thrum
About This Poem
Last Few Words: Limericks are my favourite form because of the strict rules and the need for being conservative..also the bouncy rhythm is perfect for it's usual bawdiness!
Style/Type: Structured: Western
Review Request Intensity: I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back
Editing Stage: Editing - polished draft

I suspect that...
Limericks, were one of the first forms of rhyme. Easy to remember and very entertaining. Like this one. ~ Geez.

I assume you have picked on
I assume you have picked on Nantucket because one of the most famous limericks of all time features that location. I always thought limericks were supposed to be funny (preferably risqué as well). I honestly have to say I don't know what a "pestering thrum" is. I will go and google it.

Here's one for Aussies
I'll explain why tough Aussie men do it
(see a croc and decide to pursue it)
as it seems, they are jacked
when they jump on it's back
but the fact is, they're trying to screw it
