about self I take great care
so that none ever say
Be brave.

I want to live long

because to this world
for once only I shall belong

so I wish to stay strong

I cannot say...

that I will be happy to see you gone! I will miss your constant presence and hollow cries of I won't be long. Keep living and proclaiming that you are enjoying life, rather than yelling down the tube of life, saying that soon I will be gone. We all go
eventually! I do not think much about "when I am gone", I think about how much more can I get out of what I have left. I gaze upon every baby bird learning to fly, every graceful cat that walks up the path between my neighbor's house and mine, the budding leaves on the berry trees in the yard, and listening to all of the sounds my wife makes in the kitchen. Life is to be enjoyed and used, not to be lost before it is ended. ~ Geez.
