And from there we burned

We burned
hearts on fire, you were there
while I turned
and saw my mother unaware

my sleeves were long to cover up
what i could only show to you
i pled with her to fill my cup
but she left it bleeding to just us two

but my best friend died
from a few pills at twelve
and god i cried
to the blade i helve

Welcome to Neopoet

I see this is your first poem. Trauma, suicide, self harm, more trauma, a very courageous and honest write. Thank you for sharing this part of yourself with us. I look forward to reading more from you in the future.

I had to look up the word "helve"

Very interesting piece. Address's the thing of suicide, a tough subject at best.

I really love the "POETS AS WITNESS" writing.

Tis obvious to me that you've put a tremendous amount of thought into this piece.
