reminder
Dysfunctional dad gone by the age of 5,
No arguments ,
Just silence.
Mourning your absence , craving attention
Just from the age of 5.
I beg for you back but she just says no.
The reminder of you stays in this home
She found someone new,
Smiling again.
Yet something ain't right ,
I am not her friend…
I am lazy , scruffy and a disappointment in itself,
Haven't heard these words since before you left.
I remind her of you .
In my eyes , in my heart.
I am back at the start.
It's taking its toll,
I can't take it no more,
The judgement, the darkness and the sorrow.
I remind her of you being here.
I will continue to remind her of you now I am gone.

Hello, Elizabeth,
I believe this is your first poem? Welcome! I read your comments on your profile page stating that you'd like to use your poetry to "get out what you need to get out" and it seems you've done that here. The context is heartbreaking, but very direct and clear. I hope your poetry does help! I look forward to reading more.
Thank you,
Lavender

Hello Elizabeth
It is important to understand that poetry is a creative endeavor. Dad leaves mom, I'm sad. That scenario must be written in a unique creative craft because and no offence but I have read hundreds like this, it needs to be unique for it to receive the attention you believe it deserves. Below are a few links that would be helpful for your crafting.
