Sullen silken star

Stiffly staring
from a faded
frightened far
is a sullen
silken star .
Scornfully
scattered behind
it’s skittish
skin of scolded
scowling scars.
Youthfully
yearning
For a life
contentedly
cleansed in
candlelight .
