Patience

Patience is a virtue
Whatever that means
Having patience will lead you to great things
Patience will find you someone beautiful
Be patient and wait so you can find your soulmate
Don’t go looking because you
Might run into your enemy
Patience is everything
Patience is well worth waiting
Without patience you might not get what you want at that very moment
With patience you will get the best

is one that has been around for a very long time. Do I sit around and wait for someone to love, or do I go and actively search for them? I don't know...

maybe you are right. It's been a long-time since I've dated, and I am getting old...
My wife and I have been together since 1980. Married since '89.
But you do have a point, going out looking mostly is a waste of time. You get all dolled up, showered and shaved [for you guys], go out and spend more money than you should. You take them home and find that one or both of you needs to take off make-up, a pound of jewelry, brush teeth, [put them in cleaning solution] and/or hang up wig. By the time you get all that done, one or both of you have passed out and sneak out in the morning before the other sees what you really look like.
I do remember some of the good parties along the way, and the crowd I hung out with, were mostly people that said; "Hey take me as I am". I'll put on my best duds, and dancing shoes, and away we go! Nowadays, just about everyone you meet is so concerned about looking like a 1990's Cadillac, with more than two-hundred thousand miles on it! Face lifts, fanny packs, and booby-enhancement.Yeah, everyone wants to look good, give me a break! ~ Geezer.
