The Face in the Mirror

As you stare at your reflection
There's so many things you despise
Your weight, or face, or your hair
But your self image is just a lie

Don't compare yourself to others
Their identity is already taken
Embrace all your issues and flaws
Even when your world seems shaken

Don't you see you're a masterpiece
And if this makes it come in clearer
If you want others to love who you are
First you've got to love The Face in the Mirror

Dear Shelby.

Desr Shelby.

I think this is a cracker poem. still? I would like you to be a little more adventurous with your word choices.

This is something that most people can relate to. Do you use a dictionary when you write? I use 6. Depending on the flavour of what I am writing. Just something to think about.

I'd still like to see something longer. These short poems are great. Yet I felt this topic could have been expanded and built on with a few more stanzas.

Sincerely J

I guess this was for me as much as for everyone else, because I struggle tremendously with my self-image, both physically emotionally. I hope it helps somebody!
