Drift-Away Gifts

Some of the women drove me crazy.
And some I was crazy about
while I was holding on to things
that were really never mine.

And every time I let go of the gifts
they had brought with them
I found myself able to grow a little
as my heart, after it could see again,
was grateful for the journey.

I enjoyed...

this very much. I felt it in my heart.
I feel the same way, although it has taken me some years to
acknowledge that each of the women that I have shared some of my life with
have left me gifts, and now I recognize them. A very thought-provoking piece.
