About the Author

Region, Country: by Dundee, Scotland, GBR

Favorite Poets: I try not to be influenced; I like the work of Chez Harvey and Lane A Smith, I admire Richard Siken but don't often like his work. I admire Lisa Jarnot. I can take Carol Ann Duffy and Liz Lochhead in small doses. I am in awe of Shakespeare, Yeats, and Dylan Thomas. I think Robert Browning and Philip Larkin should have been strangled at birth.

I hear you

I hear you, Ian, but my line-lengths etc are as deliberate as my words, for many reasons. If I allow readers to 'see' something in a state other than as I have conceived it I am party to dishonesty. I am not Esker. I do not write like Esker, nor should I try to. If I can't present my work as I wish to present it - indeed if I am simply not allowed to - then I am in the wrong place and should go where I am allowed to present it.
