21. ( All that was left behind)
A place of worship
Is where my body fell.
Am I alive?
Is this hell?
I now only serve as sacrificial flesh
I am willing, if it makes you smile a little longer.
The night sky holds
No stars for me
I look down,
a small patch of grass
The broken frame of who I once was
Lies before me,
It's eyes move.
It can still see.
I am,
and I always will be,
that small broken body on the ground
Sounds of people walking by
As if it doesn't matter
I am only an obstacle
Something to avoid
Pleased don't get annoyed with me,
I only think of you,
and that is how I survive.
Through this dream-like stasis
I live for the Eerie moments of clarity,
and the face you make when you stare at me.
Don't look away.
The moment I am out of sight
I am out of your mind.
You love me.
But I am not real.
Fabricated, only a mirage
As long as you.
As long as you still love me
I will always be here
Do you hear me?
Are you listening?
do you care?
Your opinion means more to me
than anything
My obsession keeps me living
All I need is more of you
A place of worship,
dedicated only to you,
'lo angel,
You are my god and my sun.
You are my only salvation.

Wow!...
It seems that if one could have that kind of devotion, they would want for nothing else. However, some think that because it is there, it will always be there, and nothing need be done to insure it. Off to find something not so easily obtainable!
You have portrayed the perfect picture of one who is always taken for granted and never thought of first. Hopefully that is not really you, and you have a better image of yourself. Nice job of playing the underrated. ~ Geezer.

Your kind words are appreciated. All of my poems are at least partially autobiographical.

I try...
to remember to call you that, but somehow, it never works, I'm still fluttering about, trying to remember, while I'm looking at your M4GG0M3NT4L. What the hell did she say that I could call her? LoL
I will keep trying. ~ Geezer.
