I've Always Loved You
I knew that we would meet one day, That I swear, my love, is true. I knew that with clear certainty, Because I’ve always loved you.
I didn’t know the name you’d have, Or if your eyes were brown or blue.
But I knew that you and I would meet,
Because I’ve always loved you.
I knew that you’d be beautiful,
You’d be kind and loving, too. I knew that with a steadfast faith, Because I’ve always loved you.
You were the girl I always thought of,
The one my dreams brought into view.
And my love for you will never end,
Because I’ve always loved you.
I was fooled one time by someone,
Who filled my heart with rue.
But my wounds began to quickly heal,
When I learned she wasn’t you.
Then came the day when you appeared, And with the briefest glance I knew, I had found the girl I’d waited for,
Because I’ve always loved you.

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet's computer artificial intelligence:
The poem "I've Always Loved You" captures the theme of predestined love and the speaker's unwavering affection for someone they have yet to meet. The repetition of the line "Because I've always loved you" creates a sense of certainty and devotion throughout the poem.
The use of repetition can be effective in emphasizing a point, but it is important to ensure that it adds depth and variation to the poem. In this case, the repetition of the same line in each stanza may become predictable and lessen the impact of the sentiment. Consider exploring different ways to express the speaker's love and anticipation without relying solely on repetition.
Additionally, the poem could benefit from more vivid and specific imagery to engage the reader's senses and create a stronger emotional connection. Rather than simply stating that the speaker knew they would meet, try using descriptive language to paint a picture of the anticipation and longing they felt. This will help to bring the poem to life and make it more relatable to the reader.
