ENLIGHTENMENT

ENLIGHTENMENT

The sun shines on a newborn world
Too young yet to grow old and tired
Just green forests with leaves unfurled
Mankind is soon to be inspired

No intellect, just an instinct
Imaginations not yet fired
A mystery how all are linked
Mankind is soon to be inspired

Hominids and emergent man
Early brains in confusion mired
Survive and thrive as best they can
Mankind is soon to be inspired

But eyes look upward to the sun
Thanks for warmth and light it has sired
It’s there each day for everyone
Mankind is soon to be inspired

Captured in their early writing
All grateful for such skills acquired
Read aloud, to be inviting
Mankind is soon to be inspired
