Stone
Stone
Written by Kelly Ann Wilson
Before I could get my license
And learn to drive a car
Before I could walk across the stage in a cap
And hold a diploma in my hands
Before I could wear the white dress
With the buttons down the back
Before I could find my direction
And purpose
And what I was meant for
My body started
Turning to stone
And soon, I couldn’t move
Couldn’t walk
Couldn’t run
Couldn’t reach
And even though I was still young
I would never again be free.

Stoned...
Without being able to define exactly what you mean by the title of Stone;
I got the feeling that you were thinking of the phrase "Set in stone."
Like, "Now that I'm getting older, and conforming to what society and/or my parents want for me, I'm committed."
I think that many of us have fallen prey to that very same feeling. Type casting or expectations of what and who we are;
makes life difficult for those of us who feel restricted and challenged. Of course, I may have gotten it wrong, but this is my take on it.
I don't see anything to change, this is really well written, and I followed the idea, [even if that isn't what you meant.] Ha ha.
Nicely done. ~ Geezer.

Loved all the phases and all the unsaid moments in between
This might be of a medical condition and if it is my heart goes out to you. Life is hard period and harder still for some. I pray that stones turn over for you and reveal the beauty this well written poem gave to me.

Damn...
never thought of it being a real-life condition; I am equally as sorry, if that is the case. Be interesting to hear from the authoress.
