Your Whispered Name

I've been whispering your name under my breath.
Sometimes it's the only word I'll speak all day

I sound out every letter and exhale,
as if it were my last

I'll feel the vowels kiss my lips
and wish it were your fingertips

Maybe, one of these days,
I'll say it for the last time

Until then,
I'll take comfort in your whispered name

This poem beautifully captures the intimacy and longing associated with whispering someone's name. The imagery of feeling the vowels kiss the lips and wishing it were fingertips is particularly evocative. The repetition of whispering the name throughout the poem adds to the sense of yearning and attachment. Consider exploring different poetic devices to add depth and complexity to the emotions expressed in the poem. Additionally, you may want to experiment with varying the structure or form to enhance the overall impact of the piece.
