I left the tap open.
For a few hours.

The misdirected anxiety
of leaving the stove on

makes me forget
about taps, feelings, people...purple-orange-red morning skies.

Oh,wait- did I remember to
turn off the stove?

This feels like a deep and simple explanation of some kind of OCD. Anxiety over some small things causing you to miss your life. I don't know, but it feels like that to me. Great poem!
