A Poem's Odssey

Pick a word at random, because mystery is blue
Language is your toolbox and your puzzle, find the clues.
An avalanche of rhythm can relax you deep inside
But surface-side you’re nervous, the purpose? Search and find.

Utilise the pen lid, it works in tandem with the ink
When it meets your teeth its magic, concepts grow as plastic shrinks.
Plots are lost in some translations, they muddle many thoughts
So, strive to find salvation in this maze of deep contorts.

A ship is safe within a bottle – ship-shaped it might remain
There’s risk in the adventure, don’t give in you must sustain.
Tangents are the waves that crash, and can crush a fragile rig
But is the structure only stronger when the ship of words is big?

Wrestle with the vessel, use intuition as a guide
Love of words is inspiration, not just the starry sky.
A linguistic cube like Rubik’s, just move it and you’ll see
Plots revealed with twists and turns, in a poem’s Odyssey.
