Where You'll Find It

I see poetry in places you might not expect.
In your texts, supporting a friend in need.
Hoping your words will be just in time.

When you think you’re wasting time
but realize, abruptly, the thing you’re doing
is feeding your soul in a way you hadn’t counted on.

Or when someone reaches down
into a dark place, fighting back fear,
and brings back something unexpected,

maybe a vanquished demon, or a beautiful epiphany.
But most of all, for me, poetry resides in kindness.
It’s what I will remember most about you.

Where You'l Find It

Hello, Michael,
Your poetry seems to come from a private place that somehow reaches us all. Someone who radiates so much kindness is certainly worthy of such a sweet grateful poem.
Thank you for sharing this.

A level of...

kindness most often not acknowledged, just accepted. For those that just accept, the reward is never as much as one might expect, just sufficient, nothing more. Thank you for the look at your heart. ~ Geez.
