11/24 Long Car Ride

A Journey toward Salvation

Fueled by the love of exploration
We steer the wheel of pride.
No breaks, no fear, no hesitation.
The journey is a benevolent ride.

The vehicle's not too big, nor small
Sized just right to fit our dreams,
Satisfying to carry and haul
to new realms and extended streams.

Now heading to our destination.
Among Palestine's holy lands.
The sanctities are our salvation
Each monument, a culture's stand.

The mosques, the churches everywhere
Each has a history of its own
Each grain of sand a mighty prayer
Each little stone a holy throne.

There we cleanse the tiresome spirit
To shed our sins and doubts
Peace in hearts we hold; inherit
Today's seeds will bloom as sprouts.

Dearest Rula,

I love it all. I found it simple to understand because of your straight forward word choices. it is beautiful because you are a lovely poet and person. you have laid down the recipe for an honest trail to salvation. my favorite lines, tho hard to choose, are:

There we cleanse the tiresome spirit
To shed our sins and doubts
Peace in hearts we hold; inherit
Today's seeds will bloom as sprouts.

much love, your Candle

It is...

my greatest wish that you and all of the people of Palestine have peace and a place of your own to call home. You have told the story of reaching for the prize, I do have some hope that you will obtain it. Many fond regards, ~ Geez.

Sir Gee

I will never lose the hope. Well, I admit that some are working more than others to Regain that Home, but in one way or another we all do
Your thoughts are always appreciated!

I read this and felt your deep feelings for your people and your holy lands. Along with the others I hold prayers and wishes that you might recieve the things that you desire. I especially liked the last two lines of the 4th stanza a message of hope for both you and me. Great poem as always. Thanks for the read! John

I know that you believe in God. My only question being is "what sins"? It all for the experience to me. Just one holy and unholy ride. Just my pov! Great clean and pristine write!

Sins

anything and everything we commit against Allah's commands/
what we do though God forbids.
