Woke up one bright morning
with a vision in my head.
A catastrophic warning
all my friends were dead.
No one seemed to notice,
but the sky had turned to red.
An atomic age was dawning
the governors all had fled.
The people who remained
all were filled with dread.
The howling and the wailing
were more than I could bare.
The people in the city streets
we're all filled with despair.
Their homes had been demolished
it seemed that no one cared.
Blood ran in the gutters
we stopped and bowed our heads.
The loud and ceaseless mourning
stung our tender ears.
The future was unveiling
our eyes were filled with tears.
The enemy was upon us
approaching with taunting jeers.
We faltered in our footsteps
embraced our sudden doom,
but on the bright horizon
A light displaced the gloom!

War has but one ugly face. I wish never to really face and no one to experience. It's a real nightmare what's going on in my world.
You've captured pretty much of it really well.
Thank you for sharing.

I wish I could take you from there to somwhere safer, but my fear is that you'd stay there anyway. You wouldn't leave your people or mabe you would. In any event I'm a prisoner too, not in the same way but as scary for me.They trample my rights and keep me locked up. Someday soon I will get out of here and give them a boot. Until then I wish happiness for you. No matter where we live it's going to get worse, but don't give up yet someday we'll all be in the clear. With previous knowledge of the place we all came from. The greater power is all the same to me!

Dear John,
I am very sorry that you have these feelings of dread and even in your dreams, you cannot escape them. Living with tension and fear is a terrible thing, I know. I have some of the same torments. You express your thoughts and emotions very well.
